Any specialty techniques, what is Chenille?

The ability to offer tried and true technique standards along with modern shiny bling is what we call Luxurious Rebellion and what we hope to bring to our client's tool box , letting our designers help them use these mediums to stimulate imagination and create patches that will turn heads, beg to be touched, and create conversation.

We currently offer three specialty techniques and we are sure that one if not a combination of these techniques will have heads turning and your brand being the word on the street, as well as in the board room.

Chenille:

Chenille has been around since the eighteenth century and originated in France. Unlike traditional embroidery, chenille embroidery is yarn that is looped to create a luxurious plush 3-D type of embroidery, that will be noticed. This decoration stitch is normally used in sportswear for items such as letter jacket patches, band uniforms, and social club attire such as sororities. In recent years it has become a trend among fashion designers, as they blend the old techniques, with new designs for fresh looks and creative solutions.

Chenille can be sewn onto a piece of fabric and then laser cut, for very easy and efficient assembly to any garment. We suggest sewing chenille patches onto the garments as a heat press could flatten the luxurious plush pile of the yarn. We have however used the heat press on a few projects in the past and have had success with smaller chenille patches being heat pressed.

Chenille can not be used for detail or small lettering in designs and we replace those graphic elements with direct embroidery, it is best used in fill areas of designs and is a big hit for all sportswear, including teams and clubs.

Like all of our patches we apply a backing, such as a sticker backing and sew the embroidered border for a finished patch that is ready to be applied to a garment or sold in retail. Let our experienced team of designers and applicators hep you decide the best way to bring the luxurious feel of the chenille sewing technique to your next creative project.
