Our Story - Patches On Caps

We Know This Industry Because We've Lived It.

Patches On Caps is the result of a career spent inside the apparel and decoration world long before I ever put my own name on a business. I started in the U.S. working for brands like Slazenger Golf, Abercrombie & Fitch, and T‑Shirt International — learning production, digitizing, embellishment, and what it really takes to deliver quality at scale. Those years gave me the foundation: the craft, the standards, and the understanding of how great merch gets made.

Later, I spent eight years in Thailand as an art director for GraphXsource, working directly with the factories that produce woven patches, embroidery, and specialty decoration for major brands. I didn't just see the process — I lived it. I walked the production floors, built real relationships with factory owners, and learned how to create premium work from the source. Those connections still power POC today.

When I came home, I didn't come alone. Grace — my wife, my best friend, and my partner — came with me. She's Thai, she's brilliant, and she's a huge part of how this business runs. Together, we built Patches On Caps from the ground up.

Back in the States, I continued working inside top-tier apparel brands, including Peter Millar, where I helped refine decoration workflows and digitizing standards. Those experiences sharpened everything: my eye for detail, my expectations for quality, and my belief that small businesses deserve the same level of craftsmanship the big brands get.

Eventually, I decided to bet on myself. That's how Patches On Caps started — not as a hobby, but as a fully formed skill set finally put to work for my own customers.

Today, POC is an owner‑operated shop in Wilkesboro, NC, offering premium embroidery, custom patches, printed apparel, and turnkey merch fulfillment for small businesses, adaptive sports teams, and organizations across the country. We keep the process simple, the quality high, and the relationships personal.

If you're here, you're supporting a business built on experience, craftsmanship, and a whole lot of pride in the work.

Look Good. Work Proud.

Meet the Team

Trey brings 26 years of garment decoration expertise, direct factory relationships built in Thailand, and a career spent inside some of the biggest names in apparel. Grace brings everything else — the organization, the heart, and the steady hand that keeps POC running every single day. Together, we're an owner-operated shop with the knowledge and connections of a much larger operation.

On the Court

When I'm not in the studio, I'm on the court. I've played wheelchair basketball since I was 26, winning a National Title in 2014 with the Carolina Tarwheels — I'm currently playing with the Charlotte Rollin' Hornets. I also play in wheelchair tennis tournaments when the schedule allows. The same drive that keeps me competing is the same drive I bring to every order that comes through POC. Show up, do the work, and take pride in it.
